GEROPHARM, GС Participated in the Saint Petersburg Economic Innovation Forum 2013

The Saint Petersburg International Innovation Forum (SPIIF) was held from October, 2 to 4. The Forum was held under the auspices of the Government of Saint Petersburg. The Industrial Policy and Innovations Committee organized the forum. The SPIIF has been traditionally held together with the International forum “Russian Industrialist” in Lenexpo Exhibition Complex. The official ceremony was opened by the Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich. This year, the main theme of the forum is “From Innovative Regions to Innovative Russia”. The discussions and round tables focused on on innovative development of the regions: functioning of development institutes, attraction of investments for innovative projects and start-ups, creation and development of engineering centers, cluster-based policy, legal aspects of innovative activity. GEROPHARM was presented on the exhibition stand for the residents of the Special Economic Zones. The Governor of Saint Petersburg visited the stand of Special Economic Zones where he got acquainted with the progress of SEZ Project. Georgy Poltavchenko and the head of ROSOEZ (Special Economic Zones of Russia) Mikhail Trushko performed a virtual start of countdown of the time remaining until the opening of the Technology Transfer Center at the Novoorlovskaya site (260 days). The center is to be put in commission in the summer 2014; as part of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum-2014, the Novoorlovskaya site can be considered opened along with the commissioning of the Technology Transfer Center. The Technology Transfer Center is a new format in the Saint Petersburg SEZ which combines office and production areas, where the SEZ residents will be able to accommodate administrative personnel and to launch a pilot small-scale production of innovative products developed in the SEZ. The area of the Technology Transfer Center will be more than 15 thousand sq.m. The volume of investments is approx. of RUB 750 mln. As part of the Forum business program, Oleg Granstrem told about the success of Pharm Holding (part of GEROPHARM, Group of Companies), one of the first residents of the Neudorf SEZ. The presentation “Experience of Implementing the Projects in Clusters” provoked great interest of the industry experts.

The Forum was attended by the representatives of diplomatic missions holding the ranks of general and honorary consuls, heads of trade delegations, as well as experts from 37 foreign countries.

The forum represented industrial facilities, representatives of science and technology and education: Russian and foreign universities, shared research equipment centers, innovation and technology centers, the leading Russian and foreign innovative companies, the leading Russian and foreign scientists and experts in the field of innovation.

The forum allowed pharmaceutical experts to share their experiences, learn about innovative developments and projects, as well as the legal aspects of innovation.
