Geropharm contributes to cultural values development

31 July 2012

Geropharm became a partner of International Music Competition for Mezzo-Sopranos in Memory of Fedora Barbieri. The event was held in Saint Petersburg State Academic Chapel from 21 till 26 July.

The competition was initiated and organized by the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center. The very idea of holding the event can really be considered unique, as mezzo-soprano is regarded as rather rare voice. There are no competitions similar to that of Elena Obraztsova in the world, what provokes great general public interest to the competition.

The young opera singers from all over Russia as well as CIS countries took part in it. The participants’ performances were estimated by the members of competent jury headed by Elena Obraztsova: the outstanding singers Teresa Bergansa (Spain), Makvala Kasrashvili (Russia), the director of Latvian National Opera Andrey Zhagras, and the director and editor-in-chief of the Opera Actual magazine Fernando Sans Riveira (Spain). Performing before such a jury is very prestigious by itself for any vocalist.

According to the General Director of Geropharm Petr Rodionov, the supporting of this music competition is an opportunity for the company to contribute to culture development. “It is of great importance today. We can become involved in shaping of the world, where our children will live, by giving attention to universal values”, Mr. Rodionov added. Geropharm has supported various social initiatives during the recent years. Organization and awarding of grants to young scientists, aid to children’s rehabilitation centres, cultural and sports events support, various educational projects are among the company beneficent projects. Geropharm pays special attention to programs aimed at human talents developing.
