GEROPHARM became one of 30 rapid-growing and high-technology Russian
companies according to the "TechUp" rating results. The rating was
developed by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) with
the support of RVK JSC, “Rusnano” JSC and SME Bank. Presentation of the
results and the ceremony of awarding the leading companies were held at
the site of the Moscow International Forum of innovative development
It is the first time such a detailed rating is developed in Russia.
The first rating stage included making the list of TOP-100 companies, of
which first 30, and then 10 rating leaders were selected. The rating
involved the companies which had been established before 1987, and which
focus their activity on development and commercialization of
high-technology products with a stable positive dynamics of sales, sell
their own products in many regions of Russia, and have an annual
turnover of RUS 100 million or more.
The rating participants are selected by the expert council which was
presented by successful, innovative entrepreneurs, owners and managers
of large innovative companies, investors, directors of media and
consulting companies offering professional promotion and support for
innovative businesses and companies in Russia.
GEROPHARM is being dynamically developed and adheres to a
comprehensive approach. In 2009, the company became one of the first
companies to have initiated the idea of forming a pharmaceutical cluster
in St. Petersburg. In late 2011, the company opened its own world-class
R&D Center in SEZ “Neudorf” (St. Petersburg). In 2012, GEROPHARM
became a resident of the “Northern” Biopharmaceutical Cluster in the
Moscow region. “Such a high estimation given by experts confirms the
success of our development strategy,” said Petr Rodionov, General
Director of GEROPHARM Group.
At the same time, the company develops production sites according to
the GMP Standards. In the spring of 2013 a factory in the Moscow region
focusing on production of genetically engineered insulin and sterile
drug products based on it will be opened. Also, the new factory will
produce modern drugs for treatment of diabetes and other socially
significant diseases. In addition, GEROPHARM implements a project on
establishment of a manufacturing complex in the St. Petersburg
pharmaceutical cluster which will produce innovative products and
generic drugs, which are of higher-priority in terms of import
The rating winners were congratulated by the organizers’
representatives - Igor Agamirzyan, General Director of RVK JSC, and Ivan
Bortnik, Executive Director of the Association of Innovative Regions of
Russia, who said: “The companies included in our list are the rising
stars of not only Russian but also the international business. I am
convinced that we should talk about such companies as much as possible.
Because they do what very few people are able to in Russia: it is the
commercialization of knowledge.”
The awarding ceremony was also attended by distinguished guests - Alexey Komissarov, Head of the Moscow Department for Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship; Anatoly Chubais, Head of “RUSNANO”, Oleg Fomichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development; as well as Sergey Tsyb, Director of the Department for Chemical and Technological Complex and Bioengineering Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
