On 14 March 2014, the results of journalist competition Golden Pen were summed up in Saint Petersburg. Yelena Bolshakova, a journalist of Kommersant newspaper, received award “For the best coverage of the region innovative economy through pharmaceutical cluster development” which was founded by GEROPHARM, Group of Companies and the Saint Petersburg branch of JSC SEZ.
Pharmaceutical cluster is an important point of growth of modern industry and efficient region economy. Intensive works aimed at creation of a number of research centres and laboratories, pharmaceutical, radiation and drug production companies are carried out in Saint Petersburg. These projects are implemented by using the latest technologies and know-how, high-tech developments thus changing the face of industry and raising new significant issues in the field of innovative industry development.
“We live in a very exciting time, a time of establishment of the
modern pharmaceutical industry as such. We see an intensive regulatory
reform, generation of solutions for critical industry issues in a
dialogue mode, and Russian business is actively involved in these
processes,” says Head of GEROPHARM, Group of Companies Petr Rodionov.
“New local production facilities become the competence centres of a new
industry. Its new history is being written in this way. Reform of
pharmaceutical industry, development of clusters as innovation centres
is a complicated work and it is important that all its aspects receive
news coverage of high quality. That is why it is for the second year
when we include a special award in the journalistic competition Golden
Pen. Such initiative was first taken together with Non-Commercial
Partnership, Medical and Pharmaceutical Projects. XXI Century, and this
year the focus is on the innovative aspect.”
Chairman of the Management Board of Non-Commercial Partnership,
Medical and Pharmaceutical Projects. XXI Century Zakhar Golant believes
that the partnership was created precisely in order to consolidate and
coordinate the efforts of the members of pharmaceutical, medical and
radiological industry cluster. In this regard, we consider the support
of Saint Petersburg and federal media as vital. Our standpoint is an
open and transparent activity along with a high quality news coverage
which would become one of the steps on the way to success.
The policy of open cooperation with mass media and drawing the journalists’ attention to the pharmaceutical cluster development are to assist in successful fulfilment of the tasks, such as transition of pharmaceutical industry to the innovation way and, therefore, it will increase the competitiveness of domestic products, ensuring the Russian health care with modern, effective, affordable home-produced medicine.
