Petr Rodionov, Head of GEROPHARM Group of Companies, took part in a
business breakfast of the Moscow Region Governor entitled “Investment
Potential of Moscow Region: Challenges and Prospects” which was held on
June 19 in Saint Petersburg as part of the second day of the St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Investments in the region’s development, experience of projects
implementation through public-private partnerships in the Moscow Region
and opportunities for implementation of new projects in the region were
discussed at the meeting.
A.Yu. Vorobyov, the Governor of the Moscow Region, has emphasized in
his speech that one of the current priorities of the region is to double
its GDP by 2020. Moscow Region focuses on infrastructure development.
Various mechanisms are developed here to support investors implementing
high-tech manufacturing projects. The Governor has stressed that even as
of today, a number of approvals for such projects are being obtained
under a special regulation, considerably reducing the time required to
obtain such approvals.
In his speech, Petr Rodionov, Head of GEROPHARM Group, shared the experience of implementation of the project of construction of a full-cycle insulin manufacturing plant in Serpukhov District of Moscow Region that was opened in 2013 . He noted that Moscow Region has unique advantages, including a convenient logistic hub and concentration of highly-skilled human resources due to the presence of a large number of science centres in the area. Great potential for product commercialization due to the government’s commitment to demand development through creation of preferences for manufacturers implementing projects in the region, including by means of entering into long-term special investment contracts, is an essential issue and is very important for successful implementation of the import substitution initiative.
